Finding the "Go to URL" Function
- Examples
(The exact choices, wording and buttons on your cell
phone can vary from what is described here.)
- A diagram that illustrates how to use the
"Go To URL" and Bookmark functions on a Motorola V551 with service from
AT&T (Cingular).
- Boost Mobile phones:
- Press the Menu key. (The
key to the left of the cursor pad, with a picture of menu on it.)
- Scroll to Web and press OK. This will start the
web browser.
- You should now be on the Web Browser's home page.
- If you are not at the browser's home page, press and hold the
Menu key until a list of browser choices comes up, then scroll to
the Home choice, then press OK.
- From the Web browser's home page, scroll to Surf the Web and
press OK.
- Scroll way down in the list, until you have Enter Site
highlighted, then press OK.
- Enter the URL.
- You will need to press keys multiple times to get one of the letters
on the key. For example, to get the letter "a" press the 2 key
once, to get the letter "b", press the 2 key twice, and so on.
- Cursor left to make a correction.
- You can leave off the "http://" part of the URL.
- To enter a dot, or slash, or similar punctuation, press Alpha.
Scroll to the symbol you need, and press OK. If you don't
see the symbol you need, press More.
- If the backlight goes out, press the big "push-to-talk" button
that's on the left side of the phone.
- When you have finished entering the URL, press OK.
- Nextel Phones:
- Press the Menu key. (The
key to the left of the cursor pad, with a picture of menu on it.)
- Scroll to Net and press OK. This will start the
web browser.
Note:
On outdated ixx Nextel
phones, the green phone call key is the OK key. (i88, i58, etc.)
- You should now be on the Web Browser's home page.
- If you are not at the browser's home page, press and hold the
Menu key until a list of browser choices comes up, then scroll to
the Home choice, then press OK.
- From the Web browser's home page, scroll way down in the list until
the Go to URL choice is highlighted, then press OK.
- Enter the URL.
